A Bright Bathroom with Warm Brass Details

We gave this Winnipeg bathroom a calm, bright finish, hexagonal marble-look floors, and warm brass on the vanity so the whole room feels fresh and welcoming.

This bathroom renovation is a lovely example of how a few carefully balanced details can make a practical room feel special. We kept the finished palette bright and quiet, then let warm brass on the faucet and drawer pulls bring a gentle glow to the vanity.

The result feels clean without feeling cold. White surfaces reflect the light, a soft sage wall and grey ceiling add a little depth, and the metal finish gives the room a welcoming warmth. Hexagonal marble-look floor tile ties the vanity, tub, and toilet together underfoot.

A vanity wall that feels open

The finished vanity is a light grey four-drawer cabinet with a slim open shelf below for folded towels. Long brass pulls keep the drawers easy to use, and the white counter reads as one clean horizontal line around the basin. A wide, minimally framed mirror carries light across the wall, including the sloped ceiling above.

We like how little the vanity asks of the room. The basin, counter, and faucet have enough space to stand out without making the wall feel busy. It is a small composition, but one our clients see and use every day.

Warmth in a light palette

Bright bathrooms can easily lean clinical when every finish is cool. Here, the brass introduces warmth in a focused way. Its soft gold tone sits comfortably against the white counter, pale wainscoting, and sage upper walls, and it adds personality without requiring a strong pattern everywhere.

Keeping the material palette concise lets that contrast feel deliberate. White wall panelling with a simple chair rail gives the lower walls a tailored finish. The sage paint above it, the grey ceiling plane, and the hexagonal marble-look floor define the architecture while the brass hardware does the decorative work.

The tub wall follows the same calm idea. A white alcove tub and smooth white surround keep the bathing area bright, with a long recessed niche for bottles and a simple white curtain. From the vanity, the mirror picks up that white shower wall and a darker showerhead, so the two sides of the room stay connected.

Before and after

The earlier bathroom had a darker vanity, a wood-framed medicine cabinet, and a charcoal accent wall behind the sink. The shower was a standard white surround with chrome fittings and a small corner niche. It was a workable family bathroom, but the finishes made the compact room feel heavier than it needed to be.

A finished bathroom for everyday use

Our favourite rooms are not just attractive in a photograph. They make the ordinary parts of the day feel better. At this vanity, clear light, an expansive mirror, and an uncluttered counter create a comfortable place to get ready. The new floor and brighter bathing wall do the same for the rest of the room.

This is a completed bathroom renovation. The photographs now show the full vanity, the finished tub, and the starting point they replaced. The direction is consistent throughout: bright surfaces, soft contrast, and a few warm brass details that make the whole room feel considered.
